This Privacy Policy relates to the
Services that Cross Pixel Media, LLC. provides to media buyers and data sellers
through the "Cross Pixel Media Targeting Platform."
CROSS PIXEL MEDIA, LLC (www.crosspixel.net), a company
headquartered in New York ("Cross Pixel"), is the provider of
enhanced online ad targeting services that utilize "Cross Pixel Media
Targeting Cookies". Cross Pixel Media Targeting Cookies provide
non-personally identifiable preference information ("Cross Pixel Media
Preference Data") that helps our advertisers display targeted advertising
to specific users in the future. Cross Pixel Media Targeting Cookies are based
on standard "cookies" that are created through "pixel
tags".
1. COLLECTION OF PREFERENCE DATA
Cross Pixel uses non-personally
identifiable methods to collect Preference Data including "cookies"
and "pixel tags". Cookies are small text files that web servers send
to a user's computer when they visit a website. Cookies are stored as text
files on the user's internet browser, and can be accessed by web servers when
the user returns to a website or goes to another website. Cookies are used by
companies to collect and send information about a user's website visit. Cross
Pixel Media uses cookies to provide information to advertisers on user web
browsing activity that indicates a user's purchase intent such as conducting keyword searches on an ecommerce website or surfing to a specific product page on a web site or reading a product review on a comparison shopping site. Cross Pixel Media cookies cannot be used to access any
other data on a user's hard drive, or to personally identify them. There are
two ways you can stop cookies from being stored on your computer, and
therefore, stop Cross Pixel Media from using this anonymous information:
- Block all cookies (from Cross Pixel
Media and everybody else) by globally or selectively disabling cookie use
in the browser configuration; or
- Opt out of
the Cross Pixel Media cookie to block only Cross Pixel Media cookies. You
may click here to opt-out
of data collection and targeting cookies from Cross Pixel Media. Be
advised that if you change computers or browsers, or use multiple
computers or browsers or delete your cookies, you will need to repeat this
process for each computer and each browser.
Additionally, Cross Pixel Media is in
the process of becoming a member of the Network Advertising Initiative
("NAI")
and will follow the NAI's
Self-Regulatory Principles, which allows for the central deletion of all of
its member's cookies from a single opt-out page. To find out more, and opt-out
of NAI member cookies, click here. We encourage
everyone to read the privacy policies of any web site they visit.
Pixel tags are small strings of html or
JavaScript code that provide a method for delivering a graphic image on a Web
page or other document. Pixel tags allow the operator of the Web page, or a
third party who serves the pixel tag, to set, read, and modify the Cross Pixel
Media targeting cookies. Pixel tags may also be used to obtain information
about the computer being used to view that Web page such as the IP address of
the computer that the tag is sent to, the time it was sent, the user's
operating system and browser type, and similar information.
We use information collected at various
times and by pixel tags and cookies placed on several Web sites in order to
deliver our service to advertisers and create a more targeted advertising
experience for the user.
As part of its service, Cross Pixel
Media does NOT collect any personally identifiable information from Users.
Cross Pixel Media also does NOT store any personally identifiable information
such as name, address, telephone number, social security number or e-mail. As a
result, we have no way of tying any of the information we collect back to a
particular User.
Some of our Data Providers, Displaying
Publishers and Networks may place their own cookies on a user's internet
browser outside of the Cross Pixel Media service; however Cross Pixel Media has
no access to or control over these cookies.
Although some of the data contained in
the cookies generated on a user's internet browser is also written to the Cross
Pixel Media database, this is done solely in an aggregate form, for
reporting, analysis and accounting purposes with Cross Pixel Media's clients.
Cross Pixel Media does not obtain or maintain separate data for a given user on
its servers.
2. USE OF PREFERENCE DATA
As described above, Cross Pixel Media
stores aggregated data on its servers. We may share such aggregate,
non-personal information with Publishers, and Networks in connection with
reporting and accounting needs as well as with other unaffiliated third parties
for various purposes such as statistical or educational analysis. Cross Pixel
Media does not share non-aggregate (user-level) data.
We disclose Cross Pixel Media Preference
Data, and information derived from Cross Pixel Media Preference Data, to our customers
in the ordinary course of our business. We indicate to our customers a user's
membership within a Preference Data segment at various times. For example, we
may tag an anonymous user as a member of a segment when the user views certain
Web pages that are operated or controlled by a Data Provider. Our customers may
use a user's membership within a segment to display advertisements and other
content that are targeted to the user. Our customers may also use third-party
service providers, acting on behalf of those customers, to display advertising
or other content that reflects a user's membership in a segment. We do not
authorize our customers to resell or sublicense Preference Data to third
parties.
We may share Cross Pixel Media
Preference Data with third-party service providers (e.g., data storage and
processing facilities) in order for those service providers to perform business
functions for us or on our behalf.
We may also disclose Cross Pixel Media
Preference Data if we believe that we have a legal obligation to do so.
Cross Pixel Media policy is to retain
our anonymous log file data in the aggregate for up to ninety days. This data
is kept in an anonymous form and used for analysis purposes only, not for the
delivery of any targeted advertisements or other content.
Also, in the event Cross Pixel Media is
merged into another company, or another company acquires all or substantially
all of Cross Pixel Media's assets, including, without limitation, in the event
of bankruptcy, all data compiled or owned by Cross Pixel Media may be among the
items transferred in that transaction. In such event, all the data will
continue to be governed by this Policy.
3. HOW IS OUR INFORMATION SECURED AND
PROTECTED?
User data collected by Cross Pixel Media
is primarily stored in aggregate form. Even so, we maintain reasonable
physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards to protect all our data
from accidental, unauthorized or unlawful access, use, modification,
disclosure, loss, or destruction. The data is kept on a secure server and we
restrict access to the data solely to authorized users. No security measures,
however thorough, are perfect and there can be no absolute assurance of
security and therefore, we cannot and do not offer an absolute guarantee or
warrant the security of the information we possess.
4. CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE
The services of Cross Pixel Media are
not intended for or directed at persons under 13 years of age. We do not
knowingly solicit or collect any personally identifiable information including
not from children under the age of 13, nor do we market our products or
services to children under the age of 13.
5. CHANGES TO OUR POLICY
We may revise this Policy at any time.
We encourage you to visit this page periodically to review our current Policy
so that you will always know what information we gather and how we may use that
information. Any and all updates to our policy are posted here, and our partner
